Empowering the
most vulnerable.
Our mission is to support Ukrainian refugees and rescue efforts. We provide humanitarian aid, medical evacuations and mental health education programs for the Ukrainian people suffering from the full-scale invasion. Join us on our mission to provide a future for those most vulnerable.

We Stand With Ukraine
We Provide Long-Term Sustainable Support for the Ukrainian People.
Friends of Be an Angel is a registered 501(c)(3) charity in the United States. We are part of the Be an Angel network, which supports refugees and internally displaced people in conflict zones. Our branch focuses on providing relief and long-term sustainable solutions for refugees and internally displaced persons (IDPs) of Ukraine. We provide large-scale humanitarian aid, medical evacuations, supplies, and medications for the most vulnerable in Ukraine.
How Your Donations Are Saving Lives
Our Projects
We send food and basic supply shipments to our humanitarian warehouse hub in L’viv. From there single mothers, elderly and disabled apply to receive care packages. Monthly, a distribution list is prepared by the Lviv team. Between 3,000 – 5,000 care packages are custom-packed, specific to individual requests, and mailed monthly.
We support first responders in Ukraine with firefighting equipment, ambulances, chemical protection suits and much more. We believe that empowering with the right tools can save hundreds of innocent lives.
Together with our partnership with the Ukrainian Medical Association of North America, Illinois Chapter, IDA foundation and many more, we are able to collect in-kind donations of medicine and medical equipment. Our distribution network in L’viv then makes sure the supplies are sent to those hospitals that need it most.
During the winter of 2022, when Russian Armed Forces were launching strikes on civilian electrical infrastructure, Friends of Be an Angel created a coalition of 42 NGOs and charities to provide 1,715 generators to over 20,000 people.
Together with Be an Angel e.V., we perform civilian evacuations for refugees affected by frontline combat. We also perform medical evacuations by air and land ambulances. We are one of the few NGOs that provides evacuations out of Europe and work together with European agencies and local governments to provide refugees with housing and accommodation.
We have a special program for the evacuation, treatment and care for babies suffering from Spinal Muscular Atrophy. We work together with the L’viv regional children hospital and geneticists in Ukraine to provide treatment options in the United States and European Union.
Through our connection with Air Rescue NGO partners, we provide complex medical evacuations for those suffering from acute life-threatening conditions. We provide them with treatment facilities and evacuation routes with dedicated medical personnel into the European Union or United States.
Freeing Freddie the Dream Weaver is an online educational program for children which teaches social and emotional learning and well-being. This is highly suitable to the Ukrainian children who are struggling to cope with their daily situations. Already in use in the US, the Ukrainian version of Freeing Freddie will provide a way for Ukrainian children, no matter where they are, to learn about emotions while engaging with teachers and classmates.
Milwaukee is affiliated with Sister Cities International, a program with over fifty years of promoting people-to-people diplomacy. One of Milwaukee’s Sister Cities is Irpin, Ukraine. Friends of Be an Angel helped facilitate the sister city program between Milwaukee and Irpin. This will open mutual exchange in areas such as student exchange, city programming, and public safety. This program will help facilitate reconstruction efforts in the region.
