For over 10 years, Valeriy has crafted unique embroidery piece’s based on classic patterns, garnering worldwide acclaim. Earlier 2022, from February 24th, the Ukrainian town of Sumy fell under attack. In these desperate circumstances, Valeriy’s weaving workshop became a humanitarian center. His embroidery was utilized in a special way as camouflage nets and clothing for the Ukrainian military personnel who were in dire need of heat during the winter. For an entire month, Valeriy’s looms kept working tirelessly, even while bomb blasts exploded right beside their buildings. There after the residents of Sumy realized their Ukrainian embroidery had saved not only their city, but the lives of their residents as well. Valeriy has continued to fulfil orders for his embroidery worldwide. People are impressed with this majestic fabric which has come to symbolize the resilience and humanity of the people of Ukraine.
